About the Library
The Coal County Public Library officially opened as a branch of the library system on July 11th, 1980. The library moved from a smaller, shared facility into a newly remodeled 6050 sq. ft. building in February 1998.
We strive to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere in which all individuals are welcome. We have various seating areas to satisfy a variety of needs and purposes.
Coal County Public Library offers a full-service audio recording studio with industry standard equipment and software. We also offer access to guitars for various recording and programming purposes. We offer 3D printing and lamination service, along with all of the standard SEOLS services.
The Coal County Genealogical Society is also housed within our facility.
