Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Start the school year with a little mystery on the Bookmobile! Young alchemists will become science spies as they use baking soda and water to write invisible messages—and reveal them with a simple acid-base reaction using shelf-stable “magic ink” made from grape juice concentrate or vinegar. Kids will learn the science behind pH reactions while crafting their own secret notes to take home. It’s back-to-school fun with a magical twist
