In celebration of National Poetry Month, participants will combine art and writing to create visual poems in a fun, low-pressure environment. In this workshop, teens and tweens will explore concrete and shape poetry, in which the poem’s form enhances its meaning. This relaxed and fun program is a great way to express yourself and try something new.
Participants will learn:
- How poetic form adds meaning and how shape can strengthen a poem’s message.
- How to create a visual poem by turning ideas, objects, or feelings into a poem that uses form as part of the story.
