Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

This mesmerizing hands-on experiment seamlessly blends fun and science. As you delve into the captivating world of physics, you’ll be mesmerized by the harmonious dance of the polished spheres swinging in unison. Each gleaming ball transfers energy with a graceful arc, illustrating the principles of momentum and kinetic energy in a visually stunning display. This isn’t just an experiment; it’s an artistic exploration that ignites curiosity and fuels your imagination. Join us as we unravel the mysteries of motion, celebrating the beauty and brilliance of scientific discovery

Learning Objectives:

  •  Understand Motion: Learn the basic principles of motion and energy using the swinging balls in Newton's cradle.

  • Observe Conservation: See how momentum and energy are conserved in the cradle's movements.

  • Apply Scientific Principles: Relate scientific theories to real-life examples through the operation of Newton's cradle.

  • Experience Visual Learning: Enjoy a visual demonstration of how forces interact and cause predictable outcomes.
