Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Event Details

KIK (Kids in the Kitchen) is a summer and after school program for kids ages 6 to 15. This program not only encourages kids to eat healthier snacks and exercise more, but also incorporates important STEM principles through hands-on activities in six engaging lessons. Participants will explore the science behind nutrition and the effects of food on their bodies, using simple experiments to understand how different ingredients work together to create healthy snacks. They'll also learn about the engineering of making food both nutritious and fun, with practical recipes that require 5 ingredients or less, empowering them to experiment and cook with confidence. By connecting food science, technology, and healthy habits, this program helps kids understand the impact of their choices while developing valuable life skills!
