Program Description

Event Details

Jacqueline Taylor, of the Choctaw Nation will demonstrate how to make a Ribbon Skirt. Ribbon Skirts are a vibrant, handmade garment worn by many Indigenous women—across tribes including Choctaw—as a symbol of cultural identity, resilience, pride, and strength. While today’s ribbon skirts have become widely recognized across Native communities, including within the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, they reflect both traditional and adapted dress practices.
