Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Explore the science of sound and turn it into a work of art! In this hands-on STEM-based program, teens will use a soundwave generator to create their own unique soundwave patterns - whether it be your favorite song, a voice memo, etc. - and then bring them to life on canvas through painting. Learn about how soundwaves work, how they are visualized, and their role in technology and communication, all while expressing your creativity in a fun and interactive way.

This activity/program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Library Services and Technology Grant, and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
