Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Storytime

Voices of the Ancestors echo through generations. Storytelling is a powerful, living tradition among Native American cultures—carrying history, values, and identity into the present and the future. Join us for a heartfelt journey of exploration as we read Remember by Joy Harjo, a beautifully written children’s book that invites us to reflect on our place in the world and the strength of ancestral connection.

This special program honors Native American Cultural Day, celebrating the enduring spirit, resilience, and wisdom of Native communities through story, reflection, and respect.
