Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Program Description

Event Details

In this hands-on STEAM program, children will explore the art and science of cyanotypes—sun-powered prints made using light-sensitive paper. If outdoor space is available, participants will enjoy a short nature walk to collect leaves and other natural items to use in their creations. Dried plants and leaves will also be provided. Each child will create a unique sunprint on canvas board, with alternative options available using cardstock or watercolor paper. UV flashlights will be used for indoor development, ensuring a fun and mess-free experience, rain or shine.
