In honor of Veteran’s Day, teens will be creating handmade cards to share with McCurtain County Veterans as a way to show appreciation for their service.    

The Idabel Fire Department will be visiting the library to give a special demonstration! Kids and families can learn about fire safety, explore the equipment, and meet our local heroes.”

Step into the world of Pocket Monsters while exploring science, strategy, and creativity!

Come hang out for a bit and pick an activity from our supplies. Everything is free! Decorate a journal, learn origami, do some lo-fi cozy coloring, or get started with crochet/knitting.

Join us each week for E-Sports team practice at the library! Whether you’re sharpening your gameplay, developing winning strategies, or preparing for upcoming competitions, this is your chance to train, play, and level up with your team.

Step into someone—or something—else’s shoes in this creative writing workshop for teens and tweens! We will write fun first-person stories from the perspective of animals, objects, or even imaginary things.

A biologist from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation will share fascinating facts about our state’s wildlife, complete with photos and real examples of animal parts such as bones, antlers, and feathers.

Each month the Choctaw Youth Advisory Board meets at the library and Marli tells them all about one of the database that  the library has to offer.  This month another new database will be demonstrated to the group..

Calling all tweens and teens!  Learn an easy (and delicious) life skill-cooking-by making your very own pumpkin mug cake.

Let your creativity shine as we turn simple popsicle sticks into personalized jewelry boxes! Teens will design and build their own mini keepsake box—then paint and embellish it to make it uniquely theirs.

LIFE SKILLS-Join us for In the Kitchen as we learn how to create beautiful (and delicious!) charcuterie boards. From cheese and crackers to fruits, veggies, and sweets, we’ll explore how to combine flavors and arrange foods in fun, creative ways.
