Notice: Spiro Public Library Temporary Closure

The Spiro Public Library will be closed from Thursday, September 4th through Monday, September 15th as we prepare for exciting updates.

This week, we’ll be moving books and disassembling the old shelving. The library will also be getting a fresh coat of paint while the walls are empty. The new shelving is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, September 11th, and once the books are back in place, we’ll be ready to welcome you again the following week.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation and can’t wait for you to enjoy the refreshed, beautifully organized library!

Curious about how much it really rains in the fall? Join us for a hands-on library workshop where you’ll build your very own rain gauge to take home and start tracking rainfall like a weather scientist!

We’ll give you everything you need—including a custom Fall Rain Tracking Sheet—so you can monitor how the weather changes throughout the season. Along the way, you'll learn why tracking rainfall is important for leaf color, plant life, local ecosystems, and even farming.
